See you in the Summer!

As this series and the reaction in the media - and even in the House of Commons - to the 'bullying' of Shilpa is now totally out of control I have now decided to stop watching this series and stop commenting on it after I finish this post.

Let me address some points, I do not feel that racism is occurring in the house. Jackiey and Shilpa never got on due to Jackiey's failure of pronouncing Shilpa's name, and Jade was not happy about the welcome she and Jack received when entering the house. This is where the troubles started, because Jade in some way blames Shilpa for Jackiey's early eviction from the house, and down to the way that Shilpa talks down to her and her mother, she decided she didn't like her. Now, anyone that remembers BB3 will know that if Jade doesn't like you she makes it very clear as she didn't like Sophie at all after she felt that Sophie 'stole' Adele's man (Lee), so a hate campaign was started then too. Jade does not like Shilpa so she takes the piss out of the things she says and the way she does things and starts arguments - in the same way she did with Sophie - and has got her little friends Danielle and Jo to join in. Just because Shilpa is of a different cultural background to Jade and the others does not make it racism.

Rumours are that Jack called Shilpa a 'Paki' whilst in bed with Jade, if this is true then it is obviously unacceptable and he should be removed from the house. However, Channel4 insist he didn't call her that, he apparently called her a 'cunt', which whilst unnecessary is not quite in the same league. Until it is proven which of the two Jack actually said, he should not be vilified for being a racist. Channel4 should just release the unedited footage so that we know.

Jo should be reprimanded at least for her comment that all Indian people are "thin and ill" I just can't see any excuse for someone that has been around as much as she must have been with S Club 7 that justifies that remark.

For people to claim that Jermaine's comment about "White Trash" is not about race is frankly ludicrous. If it is not about race, why is there a need for the 'Trash' to be defined as white? If jade had made a comment about 'Black Trash' or any other derogatory comment about anyone of a different colour or race in such a way (which she hasn't) it would, quite rightly, be slammed by everyone in the media and the general public. Whilst talking to Shilpa about his ex-wife, Jermaine answered the question "Was she black?" by saying "Of course", that could be construed as saying that he would not lower himself to having a white wife - and if it had been reversed would have been by a lot of people. Of course these points have not been raised by the same people that talk of racism in the BB House.

On last years Celebrity Big Brother, Faria Alam made some vitriolic comments about
white British people, and was never brought to task when it was much clearer that racist things were being said inside the house.

Racism works both ways.

Like the title says, see you in the summer, when hopefully normal service can be resumed.

Carole Evicted

The interview was as bad as we have come to expect, with Davina not letting Carole really answer any questions - unless they were about how wrong she'd been about Jade before she met her - and and continually asking if she was keeping quiet so she can sell more papers when she goes back to work.

The highlights package was yet again the Jade Goody Show, the editing of 'whiskeygate' making it look like Face was being totally unreasonable when in actual fact it was Jade going overboard by shouting and swearing at Face - and accusing him of being an alcoholic - just because he wouldn't give her half of his quarter bottle of whiskey when it's all he drinks and she'd helped to drink - and stash under the beds - a considerable amount of wine and beer.

Almost as soon as Carole was out of the house Jade and Danielle were double teaming Shilpa, both having a go over something that Shilpa had apparently said to Danielle about Jade and when Shilpa asked them what she'd said Danielle replied " I can't remember", and then started prattling on about how her and Jade were best friends outside the house. I would say look out for it on the highlights tomorrow but I expect Endemol will edit it to make Jade look totally innocent of any wrong doing.

One thing I've learnt today is that apparently Davina, Dermot, Russell Brand and Jade all have the same manager/agency who has very strong links to Endemol - conflict of interests anyone?

I have lost faith with this series and am surprised that I'm still watching it and more surprised that I can still get angry about it even though I've seen all this Jade business before in previous BBs. Can someone please tell me why I still care?! I expect that it's because I remember the 'pure' days of BB and hanker after them like a lost love, but it could be that I'm unemployed and have nothing better in my life!!

Underpants!

Yep, according to the official BB site Gerrard left because BB would not give him clean underpants and he refused to wash his own clothes. He then grabbed a broom and pushed his way through the kitchen wall to leave the house!

Could be an interesting highlights show tomorrow night!

Gerrard Update

I don't know much about the build up to his leaving the house other than he was moaning about BB calling him to the Diary Room and asking loads of questions about how he'd feel if he was evicted tonight - like they ask every nominated housemate. This, in my opinion, obviously lead him to believe in his mind that he was being evicted tonight so apparently he was starting to climb up the wall, before another Housemate said "Just use the fire exit" which he then did, reportedly breaking the fire exit door in the process.

Still nothing official as yet, other than the Housemates being told that he will not be returning to the house.

Voting has restarted, and as I want Dirk to win, I'd like Carole to leave now.

Big Brother in a Panic?!

According to the official Big Brother site Gerrard has escaped the BB house and voting has been suspended.

Nothing else is known at this time.......

Shilpa: "Oh my God!"

She does say that a little bit too much, doesn't she! Still, she seems to be much better than I thought she would be.

I'm glad Jackiey has gone - God, that woman is so bloody annoying! Loved her post eviction interview, though!

I would like to see what happens if Jade gets evicted and Jack remains in the house... he just seems so dominated by her! Maybe he'll come out of his shell a bit more...

The Housemates Nominated For Eviction Are...

...In alphabetical order

Carole
Face
Gerrard

Voting to evict as normal. Housemate to be evicted tomorrow night.

Apparently Shilpa has recieved a warning from BB about her part in the discussion about nominations, however, she should have received the same punishment as Carole and Cleo - although it could be argued that Cleo wasn't punished at all.

Gerrard out please.

Nomination Talk Punished

After the Housemates had made their nominations today Cleo and Carol were called to the diary room to be punished for discussing nominations earlier in the week, whilst they were in there the other Housemates had to choose which of the two would automatically face the public vote, the housemates chose Carol.

What I can't understand is why Shilpa was not included in the punishment as she was involved in the conversation about nominations too! Her, Carol and Cleo all said that they expected to be nominated soon so to ease the 'surprise they would nominate each other , then they would be expecting it and not get upset.
Smacks of selective hearing by BB, which if anyone remembers the series last summer it happened when Imogen kept on breaking the rule about discussing nominations and the fourth time she did it nothing was said to her by BB, but the other housemates involved in the conversation were punished.

Jackiey Evicted!

A bit of a surprise, but if it wasn't Jack it was bound to be her! It just makes me wonder who voted for Jack?! Jackiey was at least entertaining, she was actually quite funny when she wasn't shouting, but Jack has done nothing that I have seen, I must have missed something somewhere.

When the Housemates were called to the Dining Table they assumed that they would be getting a new housemate to play with, and it was only as it was explained to Jackiey in the diary room, which was shown on the plasma screen, that they realised. "this is sick", "This is wrong" they cried, but surely they must have seen BB before and known that this can happen?

Jackiey was not happy about the fact she had to leave straight away as she didn't even have any shoes on! Onto the interview, and another poorly handled one from Davina's point of view, the fact that she can't control her interviewees says a lot about her skills - ie. she doesn't have many - but once Jackiey finally calmed down it was ok, Jackiey didn't come across any different than she did in the house and frankly I wasn't expecting her too, there's one thing you can say for Jade and her Mum they are certainly not fakes, Jade is a bit more diplomatic (never thought I'd hear myself say that!) at times but largely what you see is what you get.

Gerrard is still pissing me off a great deal, his condescending attitude and endless name dropping shows that he is a self important tosser of the highest regard and the sooner he is voted out, the better.

Eviction Night Thoughts...

Unsurprisingly Big Brother is down on ratings (I personally haven’t watched any since Ken left) and the media are pinning the blame directly at Jade's door. To be honest I would put it down to the lack of real and well known Celebrities compared to the other 'all star' shows that are on at the moment, because although the other shows seem to rely largely on soap and sport stars it does mean that people in the mainstream have at least heard of them!

I liked the eleven house mates that entered the house seven days ago, there was only two I didn't know but after a quick search all was well. It was a good mix of characters that although very different seemed intelligent and polite enough to find out about each other and discover that maybe they weren't that different after all. It was interesting to watch in the same way that the real Big Brother was in the first few years.

Then came Jade.

I was never a fan of Jade the first time around and this time she's brought her family along for the ride. They were obviously brought in to shake things up, which they have done. But at what cost? Two of the more interesting personalities have left the house and the dynamic has shifted from a peaceful, happy time to an era of arguments and tension. Although that’s not all down to Jade, in fact – other than the business with Ken - Jade has been ok this time around, a little too much crying in the diary room perhaps but anyone that saw her four years ago would have been expecting that. The problems stem from Jade’s Mum, Jackiey, who although whilst seeming nice enough is in the same class as Gerrard for not being able to shut up. Jackiey is one of these people where if you want to have a chat, as Shilpa did the other day, and take them to a quieter place to do it, they will jump on the defensive and start getting louder this is what’s leading to problems – her inability to listen to others.

Let’s get one thing straight, I do not go along with the whole “Jackiey is racist” nonsense, I do not believe that for a second, but the way she has acted towards Shilpa since coming into the house is inexcusable and down to, I believe, ignorance. Not stupidity like some people believe “she just has trouble with her words”, ok, some people do have problems with words, especially foreign names, but really, Shilpa? Even after having the name said to her hundreds of times she can’t grasp it, this is not down to her being stupid or racist, it is down to her being lazy and ignorant. Of course ignorance is what leads to racism, but that’s another debate.

Gerrard is probably the only housemate that I actively have a problem with at the moment, he is so disrespectful of anyone else it’s unbelievable. He will not shut up, even if someone is trying to have a civilised conversation with him he will just talk over the top of them. Even Jackiey doesn’t do this until she feels threatened! When Dirk raised that point with him, did Gerrard take the manly route and listen to what was being said and have an interesting two way conversation? No, he acted like a spoilt child and refused to speak for the rest of the day. I knew from the first night that if any problems were going to arise they would be from Gerrard or Ken, and without the arrival of the Goodys, that would have been the first ‘trouble’ in the house.

There has apparently been seventeen complaints to OFCOM that there has been no footage of Jermaine doing his Prayers, now I think that with 24 hours of footage to be cut down to just one hour a day, surely there is a lot more entertaining – and lets face it BB is just a game show - footage than someone Praying?!

So onto the surprise eviction this evening, and Jade has apparently said that if Jack is evicted then she’ll follow. Well I can’t see it being any other way, of the five that are up for eviction, Jack is the only one that doesn’t seem to have a fanclub, and when the voting is for Housemates to stay in the house you cannot afford to stay as anonymous as he has. So yes, I think Jack will be leaving tonight, which may give the producers a worry as what are they going to show for his best bits?! All he has really done is sit and listen to Jade – but then as the conspiracies are the Endemol/Ch4 want Jade to win (so they can say that the most successful housemate from Big Brother was a winner) that would give them a chance to show more footage of her!

Who do I want to win? Still Dirk for me, although Gerrard is the only housemate I dislike and want evicted, so I’m not too worried.

Another One Bites The Dust

Ken has left the Big Brother House. After Jade, Jack and Jackiey moved in Ken has not really been that happy, and after a bit of a bedtime bust up last night, and Jade having a massive go at him for having Cheese and Crackers because he didn't make the servamts get it for him Ken decided enough was enough and went to the Diary room at about 2pm and asked to leave, Big Brother said ok, and he left just after 3pm.

A shame for me, as I certainly liked him a lot more than Jade and her clan, and when you consider that two of the housemates have left because of them - in Donny's case because of the big fuss being made over them by BB, including the fact that Jade's Grandparents are popping in for dinner tonight - it makes you wonder if BB execs really thought their inclusion through. Admittedly they are there to cause unrest, but it seems that this year's housemates want to walk out before making a fool of themselves like last year's did. Already because of the task surrounding the Goodys, Jermaine, Leo, Danielle Gerrard and Dirk have all said they'll happily leave if they don't like what's going on, and two housemates have left with rumours coming in that Jermaine has actually asked to leave, I can't help but thing BB has bitten off more than they can chew.

So the question is has Jade killed the show that made her?

Donny Has Left The Building!

Late last night Donny sneaked into the servant's Garden, followed by H, and decided to scale the wall to have a look around. Once he got to the top and had a look around he apparently said to H "Say goodbye to the others for me" and jumped down. The others came into the gaeden after H had told them and thought it was just a prank and he'd pop up from hiding somewhere, but just before midnight Big Brother confirmed to the House mates that Donny had left the House and would not be returning.

The Twist Part II

Jade obviously thought that her welcome from the rather bemused housemates wasn't warm enough as she moaned about them in the diary room whilst being broadcast to both houses on the Plasma screens having the task explained to her! To be fair I don't think that Shilpa, Jermaine or Ken knew who she was so their reaction was not surprising!

All three Goodys were frankly stupid by not realising that the door with 'Push' written on it was the fucking door!

The Six Housemates Still in the Main house are up for eviction with the Public Voting for who they want to keep in the house, the servants are safe. The surprise eviction takes Place on Wednesday evening and I Think Jade's boyfriend or Ken will be leaving.

The Twist Part I

So the twist wasn't quite as expected with eight housemates moving into servant's quarters next door and the Goodys Moving into the main house with Jermaine, Ken and Shilpa. Shilpa seemed quite upset after the Others left which is Somewhat unsurprising given who she was left with. I can't wait to see what she Makes of Jade!

The eight that moved took to the Squalid Conditions with good spirit but I wonder how they'll take to being servants - especially to the Goody Clan!

I have to say that apart From Jade and CO. I like this twist and I think that Shilpa will not like being waited on by people She regarded as friends. Can't see Jermaine and Ken Caring too much to be fair but we'll see. One thing is for sure Jade and her family are going to love it!

Jade Goody and Co. All But Confirmed

Dermot thought he was being clever, but any Big Brother fan will know that such a reference to 'kebabs' can only mean that Jade is going in, also when BBLB guest Jermaine Greer said the Jade and the Goody clan would be going in he cut her off with his little bell and looked a bit sheepish about letting her speak!

Getting to Know You....

With Jo hearing noises from 'behind the mirrors' the talk today turned to that of the 'House Next Door' - see, even the Housemates are expecting it! Some of the housemates told Jo that actually that's just where the cameras are so there will be noises, but she was adamant that there is another room with more housemates in.

I've been watching the live stream for most of this afternoon, and there were some interesting bits and some boring bits, but a strange little bit was when Shilpa and some of the other's were talking about the pronounciation of Face's name. Shilpa being unable to naturally pronounce "Dirk" properly, which led to much merriment amongst the others.

Face and Jermaine spent much of this afternoon cooking the dinner, and were locked in conversation, until along comes Gerrard with his stupid inane chatter, and you could see that Jermaine was not happy about him being there, so a possibility for some confrontation ther. I do think that Gerrard will cause problems with his inability to stop talking, even when someone else is trying to say something, and if any confrontation does happen this will be his downfall, just like Science a couple of years ago.

On to the subject of it being called 'Celebrity' Big Brother, out of all the housemates, they are basically just has-beens and wannabes, with the exception of Shilpa who is a current celebrity, albeit not well known by mainstream Britain. So opens the debate of whether you are - or have been - in the public eye immediately means you gain 'Celebrity' status. I think not, and made my feelings clear on the inclusion of Faria Alam last year, which to my mind means that at least three (but maybe four) of the Housemates shouldn't be there. I'll let you try and figure out who I mean, but I'm allowing former pop stars and worldwide TV stars have their moment of glory!

CBB'07 is Go!

And we're back after someone decided to fuck up my site.

On to the job in hand, the launch of CBB'07, for some obscure reason that I shall not mention again tonight, Davina was dressed as a Chav as she introduced the latest series and the housemates to the world. The house hasn't changed much since the last series of normal BB with the exceptions of the exercise area next to the kitchen, the dining table being moved back inside the house and the little question printer on the wall. I like the idea of questions being randomly printed off into the house to be answered and discussed by the Housemates, it's reminiscent of when BB used to give the Housemates discussion tasks back when BB was fresh and original.

Anyway, onto the Housemates and in the order they arrived...

Jermaine Jackson I'm not sure if it was just because of Davina's questions about Michael and Janet or some more psychological reason, but he seems to have a complex regarding his more famous siblings. Seemed very nervous once inside the house and I liked they way that as the first two or three of the other housemates came in he seemed to think that they'd know who he was and didn't introduce himself and just said 'Hi'!

Danielle Lloyd Seems like your typical WAG, only talked about Teddy Sheringham and shopping in her intro tape and was booed (somewhat unnessecarily) when she got out of the car.

Ken Russell was obviously very drunk, I don't think he'll be popular in the house - he'll be the John McCririck of this series. Comes across as a bit eccentric in a very English way.

Jo O'Meara seemed very pleased by the crowd reaction, universally cheered and seemed very down to earth. Could last the course.

Leo Sayer who shall henceforth be referred to by his real name of Gerard as Leo is my name and I don't want to be associated with that arrogant, patronising fool. I didn't like him and won't be sad if he leaves soon.

Shilpa Shetty
apparently gives 200% to everything she does - some might say that that's trying to hard love! Came across as arrogant, but being one of the biggest stars of Bollywood could do that to a person!

Carol Malone someone that has called everybody that takes part in Celebrity Big Brother morons, and apparently hates the Reality genre of TV show - nevermind that this his her second attempt at said genre! Hates that people become famous from reality TV just because they are on the TV, when some might say she's only 'famous' because she has a big mouth.

Donny Tourette I don't think I'll be proved wrong in my opinion of this young man - I think (from seeing him for all of five minutes) that he is a cock. Your typical middle class wanker that is in a rock band to rebel against Daddy's money and status when without that money and status he'd be a nothing. Certainly didn't ingratiate himself to the crowd tonight.

Ian 'H' Watkins Another has-been Pop Star that seems incredibly down to earth, and got a good reaction from the crowd. Only 'came out' publicly today and from what I can make out he the only gay in there - for a change!

Cleo Rocos Now I remember her from the Kenny Everett shows from years past, and she certainly seems to have absorbed some of Kenny's insanity! Should be interesting to watch at least...

Dirk Benedict or 'Face' as he shall now be known! What an entrance! Methinks that BB want him to win as the 'Big star' of the bunch. As already stated I will be cheering for him - even though he was very close to boos as he milked his entrance a bit too much!

So, until Friday's new family move in (rumoured to be Jade Goody and her Mother), that's the housemates. I may even change my mind about some of them, it's certainly happened before!

Well Krisse, I know you were watching, let's hear your views mate!

Celebrity Big Brother 2007

It's kicking off tomorrow night on Channel4 at 8pm, and if the News Of The World's "Confirmed List" of housemates is to be believed (as it's only been confirmed by the News of the World themselves!), I know who I'll be cheering for! The News of the World claim that the following will enter the House tomorrow night...

Paul Michael-Glazer (Starskey and Hutch)
Dirk Benedict (The A-Team)
Danielle Lloyd (former Miss Great Britain)
Jermaine Jackson (Jackson 5)
Justin Hawkins (The Darkness)
Robert Kilroy-Silk (Politician/former TV Presenter)
Lauren Harries (Transsexual former Child Prodigy)
Shilpa Shetty (Bollywood Actress)

Of those, I shall - of course - be cheering for Templeton 'Face' Peck, or Dirk Benedict to those oblivious to the brilliance of The A-Team. Other names that have been getting thrown around for a while include David Hasslehoff, Whitney Houston and former Coronation Street star Julie Goodyear.

Not a very inspiring list of participants, however it goes downhill even further than that when you take into consideration that BB executives have confirmed that the 'Secret House Next Door' will yet again feature. Although it's the first time they will have used it during the Celebrity version, the Secret House is one of my most hated features of the 'real' BB, it's expected, it's tired and it adds no excitement. Yes it was cool when it was first used but that was a long time ago! Especially as BB execs are reportedly struggling to find Celebrities after a couple of last minute drop outs, some of the people that enter the house may well know prior to entering the House, that Next Door will exist, unless they are the people that will live Next Door and may never enter the House itself.

Considering it's only on for three weeks, I already feel a great sense of foreboding about this series. They may be trying to do too much in too short a timespan and come out with a load of rushed nonsense - yes I accept that any seire of BB is nonsense, but there's no need for the Execs to ruin it before it even starts by overstretching the concept.
